But the dreams of a prosperous and united India seem precariously threatened by divisible politics, the abysmal economic inequalities, the increasing terror and strife within and at our borders tear into the vitals of the nation and the idea of nationhood. This book discusses how, under such conditions, we can preserve the core idea of India and aim for development.
